This tour is a “must see” for Outlander fans and one that will have your friends envious.  An added bonus is that the locations are steeped in centuries of scottish history, so you do not need to be an outlander fan to enjoy it.  Your guide (a big outlander fan) will take you to some hidden gems from the series.

During the tour we will visit –

Castle Leoch (Doune Castle) – Home of Colum MacKenzie, Chief of Clan MacKenzie, where Jamie took Claire after her first encounter with Black Jack Randal and where she first meets Geillis Duncan. It was also used as Winterfell in “Game of Thrones” and in the film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”

Fort William (Blackness Castle) – where Jamie received his 200 lashes at the hand of Black Jack Randal and where Jamie rescued Claire from Black Jack.

Lallybroch (Midhope Castle) the home of Jamie Fraser and where Jamie was assaulted by the redcoats while trying to protect his sisters honour and received lashes for his efforts.

Cranesmuir (Culross) – where Geillis Duncan lives and where she was to be burned as a witch. This beautiful medieval conservation village was extensively used in filming of Outlander.

Wentworth Prison (Linlithgow Palace) Where Jamie suffered his ordeal at the hands of Black Jack Randall.

After our tour of Outlander Locations we make our way back to the ship and if time permits we will visit Lyle Hill with magnificent views over the Clyde Estuary (Greenock Ocean Terminal).

We intend return you to the port 60-90 minutes before your departure.

Due to its proximity to many of Scotland’s attractions, Greenock (Glasgow) Port and ALL Edinburgh (Newhaven, Leith & South Queensferry) Port Shore excursions are usually in high demand, so please book well in advance and reduce the chance of disappointment.

Duration: 6-8 hours
